Diferencia entre in time y on time

Os voy a explicar hoy la diferencia entre estas dos preposiciones, in y on combinadas con la palabra time.

1) On time = punctual, not late

Examples:

– I’m always on time = siempre llego puntual / siempre soy puntual

– I don’t like people who don’t arrive on time = no me gusta la gente que no llega puntual.

– Arriving on time when you have an interview is crucial to make a good first impression = llegar punctual cuando tienes una entrevista es crucial para causar buena impresión.

2) In time = with spare time (con tiempo suficiente, con la suficiente antelación)

Examples:

– I like to get to the airport in time and have a drink before boarding = me gusta llegar al aeropuerto con tiempo y tomarme algo antes de embarcar.

– As I arrived at the concert in time, I could get a good seat = como llegué al concierto con tiempo, pude coger un buen asiento.

En el aeropuerto, cuando vemos ‘on time’ es que el vuelo llega a su hora (puntual).
